Hochu Peremen - Kino
'Hochu Peremen' by Kino is a song that became the unofficial anthem of Perestroika, channeling the frustration and restlessness of Soviet youth demanding change after Viktor Tsoi wrote it in 1986. Though Tsoi always insisted the "change" he sang about was deeply personal and internal rather than political, the song's urgency and imagery of a "red sun burning to ashes" made it irresistible to protest movements across the post-Soviet world.
