Lä-Ppisch is a Japanese band formed in Tokyo in 1985 by Magumi and Kyoichi Sugimoto.
Originally inspired by British ska, their style evolved to include punk, funk, and psychedelic rock.
They debuted with Animal Beat (1986) and gained popularity with albums like Wonder Book and Karakuri House.
After disbanding in 2005, they reunited in 2008 and continue to perform.
Known for energetic shows and genre-mixing, they helped shape Japan’s ska/alt-rock scene.
