¡Hola! My name is Jabier and I am from Venezuela, although I currently live in Chile. I hold a Bachelor’s in Modern Languages from the Universidad de los Andes in Venezuela and a Master’s in International Business from the Instituto Europeo de Posgrado. I have taught Spanish since 2007 in Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Germany, Colombia, and Ecuador, mainly to adults. I teach professional Spanish, Spanish for tourism, Spanish for business, medical Spanish and Spanish for teachers. my philosophy for learning a language goes beyond only lessons and handouts; I like to encourage the student to dive directly into the language and turn normal lessons in truly learning experiences. Outside of teaching, I love to travel and I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, watching movies, and sports. I speak five languages, so I am very familiar with the challenges of learning a new one. Why do you think learning a language via TV and Films is so great?

Languages enclosed the full content of a culture, countries and regions. I believe films are very useful tool to immerse in those supralinguistic aspects.
